Damn sissy caliber. Had an Army range master tell me that if you shoot a 9mm, shoot 'em twice, the first round just makes 'em mad. Use something bigger, a .40/.45/.45LC.
Andrew - bbl = barrel

Probably a little late here, but ignore "JD". He's a troll. Obviously jealous that he doesn't have an XDm. Bought my first one this week (9mm) and will be going out in the morning to try it out. Love the gun already!

I love my Springfield XD! I just read an awesome thriller called 'Castle Doctrine' where the main character buys a Springfield XD and uses it defend his home. Excellent novel for the gun enthusiast.

I just picked up the Springfield XD 9mm. It's my first actual purchase. I have tried many similar firearms at the range (including the Glock, Berretta, etc) over the last year. Overall, the Springfield XD had the best feel. It has a soft recoil and is fairly lightweight. I recommend you try out any firearm first before you make a purchase, but you will not be disappointed with a Springfield XD or XDm.

That JD obviously has never taken pictures with anything other than full auto mode, or if he has isn't very observant. Projenna has pretty much nailed it, different lighting & different agnles cause different reflections.

Nice gun, got the same one!

I think where JD is confused is the camera angle and lighting. It looks like you used both a flash and a desk lamp or just the lamp. At certain angles the light reflects directly at the camera and it looks polished and chrome-y. At other angles, the surface is not flat towards the lens and, because the light is reflected along a different path, it looks darker. The pics match. The lighting is the only thing that's different.
