The lady (and I use that term lightly) that takes care of my postal route is one of the laziest people I’ve ever seen in my life.
I was out of town all week, and have was expecting my upper receiver and BBL for the Ultimate AR-15 project to be delivered any day. My wife was out of the house all day wednesday and came home to find a note in the mailbox that basicly said that USPS tried to deliver a package that required a signature, that they would try and redeliver on thursday, or I could pick it up from the post office after 3pm. So being the sweetheart that my wife is, she stayed home all day thursday so as not to miss the delivery again. Guess what, the USPS delivery was a no show. But somehow, another little yellow slip ended up in my mailbox .
When I got home friday afternoon, I gave the post office a call. They said they have the package, and I could pick it up any time. When I asked about the redelivery attempt (more specificly the lack thereof), he just said, “we don’t do that, we only try to deliver once”. I was tired, and no mood to argue about the inconsistancies of the statements and my carrier’s actions, so I let it go this time. So I drove the 15 miles into town to get my package.
The BBL is absolutely beautiful (sorry camera battery is dead, so I can’t get any pics right now). The Stag lefty upper receiver appears to be a quality unit and matches up perfectly to my Mega lower. The only bitch I have is the poor staking job on the gas key. It looks like they took a cold chisel smacked it down on top of each bolt head, making a notch across the top of the key and bolt heads. A little frustrating, but no biggie. It took me longer to find my tools than to restake the key the proper way.
One thing I did notice, is I’m going to have to add a tactical latch for the charging handle to the list of parts. The left-hand forward assist is right below the charging handle (which is the standard right handed part) latch and makes things a little cramped up there.
Pictures soon to come.
